On December 5, 2017, the "Collection of Kindness - Sharing of Fragrance" 1st China • Chengdu National Disabled Artists Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition was grandly held at the Sichuan Art Museum. Previously, through liaison and coordination by the Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, the American city of Phoenix, an international sister city of Chengdu, provided this exhibition with seven paintings created by local disabled persons. As such, the Chengdu Disabled Persons Federation invited the CDFAO to act as one of the activity's supporting organizations, and relevant persons in charge at the CDFAO's Department of North America and Oceania attended the exhibition's opening ceremony upon invitation.
Since 2006, under the joint organization efforts of the Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and the Chengdu Disabled Persons Federation, many disabled persons from Chengdu began to actively partake in the competition for artists with disabilities held in Phoenix, the United States, and many accolades have been won. Recently, Phoenix Sister Cities Commission told the CDFAO: A photographic work from a Chengdu disabled artist won the first prize at the "2017 International Competition for Artists with Disabilities" hosted in Phoenix. The artworks of disabled artists selected by Phoenix to participate in the 1st China • Chengdu National Disabled Artists Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition further bolstered the level of internationalization of Chengdu's endeavors for disabled persons, and is a new achievement in the friendly sister cities exchanges between Chengdu and Phoenix.
It has been known that the "Collection of Kindness - Sharing of Fragrance" 1st China • Chengdu National Disabled Artists Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition debuted between December 5 and 7 at the Sichuan Art Museum, after which the second exhibition of the tour took place inside the Kuiguang Tower Park Exhibition Hall in the city of Dujiangyan between December 9 and 11.
