On December 15, 2017, Deputy Mayor of Chengdu Liu Xiaoliu met with Pang Chee Wee, the newly appointed Consul-general of Singapore in Chengdu.


Deputy Mayor Liu began by congratulating Pang on his new appointment, then introduced Chengdu's socio-economic development conditions, and expressed the hope that the Consul-general could actively promote Chengdu in his home country, adding the anticipation that the two sides could continue deepening cooperation in areas such as investment, trade, logistics, aviation and culture.


Consul-general Pang started by recapping the Chengdu-Singapore exchanges and collaborations that have been carried out since the inception of the Singapore-Sichuan Trade and Investment Commission, then thanked the Chengdu Municipal Government for the great support provided to the Consulate-general of Singapore in Chengdu, and indicated the desire that the two parties could strengthen communication in fields such as personnel exchanges, economy and trade, technical innovation, tourism and education.


Relevant comrades in charge at the Chengdu Municipal Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Chengdu Municipal Commission of Commerce also participated in the meeting.
